CAM™-Informed
Art Therapy
Art Therapy provides a powerful and transformative approach to healing for survivors of violence, sexual assault, domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and trauma. By integrating somatic awareness with creative expression, art therapy allows survivors to process and express emotions that may be difficult to articulate through words alone. For individuals who have experienced trauma, art offers a non-verbal outlet for expressing complex feelings, helping to bridge the gap between the emotional and physical aspects of healing.
CAM™-Informed
Art Therapy
The process of creating art can promote relaxation, self-discovery, and empowerment, supporting survivors in reclaiming their sense of agency and control. Furthermore, the somatic nature of art therapy—focused on body awareness—encourages survivors to reconnect with their bodies in a safe and nurturing way, facilitating the release of stored trauma and stress.
By engaging in this therapeutic modality, survivors can experience profound healing, rebuild self-esteem, and find a renewed sense of hope and resilience. Art therapy provides a compassionate, safe space for survivors to explore their experiences, express their emotions, and embark on a path toward emotional and psychological recovery.
