As an interdisciplinary team, we bring together professionals from diverse disciplines to collaborate interdependently within a unified framework. This integrated approach allows us to create comprehensive care plans that harness the collective expertise of the team, ensuring the delivery of holistic and effective treatment. In contrast, multidisciplinary teams operate in parallel, each discipline working separately to develop their own care plans. At HIR Wellness Institute, we believe that true innovation and impact arise from synthesizing knowledge and practices across disciplines to create a coordinated and cohesive treatment model.

Training the Next Generation of Workforce
​Since its inception, the HIR Wellness Institute has been driven by a vision to provide free mental health and wellness services to survivors of violence, while simultaneously reimagining and transforming the culture of Mental Health Professional Training and Internship programs.

At HIR Wellness Institute, we are pioneering a revolutionary approach to the practicum and internship experience for helping professionals. We center learning in action, integrating real-world experience into field placements through our Community Activated Medicine™ (CAM™) Advanced Training clinic. This innovative model enables future mental health professionals to engage directly with community needs, ensuring their education is grounded in practical application and impactful service delivery.
